Unofficial Poll Question:
Worst Mayor Ever, or Worst Public Official in the History of the Democratic Government?
This has already appeared on many real blogs already, but still warrants mentioning on our little corner of the blogosphere: Mayor street spent the day in wheelchair to see what it was like. I think this really cements his legacy as a bumbling idiot, with little regard for - or comprehension of - normal human adult behavior.

Thankfully for all, he cannot be reelected this upcoming election. Go Nutter! Beat The Machine!

Congrats to Drew and his beloved Red Sox, may we be sharing in the same glory this time next year here in Philadelphia.
Drew, how did you make up to Boston so quick last night from State College in time for the celebration?

PumpkinHead
5 hours of driving in the miserable rain in the car to get to State College Friday night
5 hours of drinking at the G-Man and Adam's Apple on Friday night in State College
1.5 hours of the worst sleep in my life on Friday night on the floor of the Fairfield Inn
15 hours of drinking Saturday morning, afternoon, and night in State College
2 hours of sitting in tailgate traffic after the game
3 hours of the second worst sleep in my life on Saturday night
3 hours of driving back to Philadelphia
5 hour nap today in Manayunk
How do I still feel?
But you know what?
I can't wait to do it again. Minus the game, tremendous effort and time turned in by all at the tailgate.
See you in two weeks at the Linc.

All the reasons I love my boy Schill....
From his blog http://www.38pitches.com/
“Terry Francona is a genius since he arrived in Boston? The ‘know it alls’ in Philadelphia, from [Daily News columnist Bill] Conlin to [610 WIP morning host Angelo] Cataldi to [610 WIP evening host Glenn] Macnow, aren’t really know it alls are they? Their people who’s life it is, who’s entire job description, revolves around creating news or stories where there is none, to make you think their ‘in’ and you’re not, and if you want to truly know or get smarter, listen to them. Pretty cool when you can be wrong pretty much 90% of the time and still be considered an expert.”
“Wonder how smart Tito looks to the guys that hacked him in Philly now? 3 post seasons, 2 world series appearances in 4 years here. Nice to know he gets that last laugh.”
All the local bloggers can rip him all they want. Bottom line he has two rings and looks like maybe a third, and can just flat pitch.
Here's to you Schill. Fuck Cataldi.
Lastly, here's why I love Jessica Biel.
She's absoulte tits.

I have an announcement to make...
In case you missed it in today's Daily News as reported by Dan (I'm sure he looks and is disgusting and) Gross.
That being said, she specifically requested to go to this special stomping ground Tuesday night for a romantic evening...
In a UGANDAN news story, the belle of the broadcast ball in this town has broken up with her dirt-ass New York boyfriend.
THOD is exclusively reporting that this contributor bumped into Alycia at the Belmont Avenue Wawa at 3:30pm this afternoon as she was purchaing some Wawa Green Tea and Cesear Chicken Wrap.
This contributor managed to strike up a conversation, ("Come here often... hahahahahah???) and unbelieveably managed to secure a date with the aforementioned anchor tomorrow night.
Since moving here from North Carolina she obviously has become a huge fan of Manayunk and its thriving nightlife. Really, who hasn't?
That being said, she specifically requested to go to this special stomping ground Tuesday night for a romantic evening...
She told me she loves it at the Bayou because the girls there "just don't quit" and when they do, "its only to take a shit"
Not sprisingly, she likes her wings like she likes her relationships - EXTRA HOT. Unfortunately, she does not take to crabs. She wouldn't go much futher into it as I talked to her over a caramel cowtail and chocolate covered cherry outside the Wawa.
She "just has a bad experience with Crabs" and decided that she'll stick to the wing and ice cold Miller Lite.
So......
If you read this far, you've probably figured out that this UGANDAN announcement is complete non-sense. That being said, the reality of it is that I do have a date with another local tv celeb on Tuesday night though... You might have seen her on Fox. Do you know her?? Bus Stop Buddy!!!
Can you Hold On??
As our friends at Wilson Phillips so often have said....
Some day somebodys gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Dont you know?
Dont you know things can change
Thingsll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Thingsll go your way
Hold on for one more day
Can you hold on

"You know I'm talking Phils"
So our Phils are down 2-nil right - and many of us spent a lot of the last two days looking and feeling la lot like this after our offensive letdown...
But have no fear, J-MO and K-LO will bounce us right back to victory on Saturday and Sunday to make us feel more like THIS...
OR THIS....
If not you know where to Go - Right to our Pack that is 4 and Ohhhh!

We Win!
So here we are...
If you're a normal and avid reader of THOD this will probably be a little different for you, as there will be no slappy pictures or no token cheap shot in this narrative...
For this is one of the most truly HAPPIEST DAYS in some time, not just because my Phillies are the champions of the NL East but because it makes things come together so much easier than income, relationships, jobs, or the whathaveu in life.
For me, it takes me back to days waking up on Sunday morning reading the boxscores wondering how many games the Phillies were back, asking my Dad about the game and what our Phightins need to do to get over that hump.
All of it flashed back you see, when strike three was raised and Chris Coste charged toward the mound in celebration for the first time since I was age 16 and a sophomore and .261 hitter.
What I mean by this is that this playoff baseball brings you that much closer to a perfect world, a world that is good, a world that makes everything else seem so fun, so enjoyable.
For me it really does mean THE HAPPIEST OF DAYS, that catch on the beach, that ground ball in the yard that makes baseball my passion.
For the Phillies won today, and, well for one day, at least one, it makes it all worth while.
So when you read this at work on Monday and you go to your next meeting or take your next phone call remember, you have an escape for at least one more day, a day... in every way.... to believe.
Go Phils!
